Anatomy of a Quick Turn Below is a step by step animation of the quick turn. Executing it properly allows the cyclist to instantly (Quick) turn. The turn is tighter than a normal turn (inside a smaller radius) and consequently gives an added safety factor in an emergency situation. Below the animation are the images from the animation laid out as individual frames. Note particularly in the third frame the "flick" in the opposite direction of the intended route of the cyclist which allows the instant lean of the bike and thereby a tighter turn.
Below are the individual frames from the above animation - In
the below images you can easily see the "flick" and also the bike lean after the
"flick". Look at the third and fourth frames for the notations
concerning
the critical "flick" in the opposite direction of the turn.
